Love Memphis to dominate in the trenches and gash FAU on the ground. Memphis secondary can be passed on as evident with Arkansas and Ga St passing output. FAU fastest tempo in the country. Tons of possessions.

Pace cuts both ways. Snail’s pace for the Midshipmen and Owls in my first best bet. And now lightning pace for FAU. Florida Atlantic snaps it every 18.7 seconds, no other program in the country is below 20 seconds. Now Memphis is far more methodical, but here’s the entire handicap on this total…FAU’s defense is garbage. They’re 108th in explosives allowed, 83rd in HAVOC and thats after facing a true freshman in his first career start, a middling FCS team. Florida International dropped 38 on their head in 40 minutes of football before shutting things down in the Shula Bowl in the fourth quarter. The Memphis running game is going to eat here. Sutton Smith and Greg Desrosiers Jr. will find green grass and room to roam all game long. They just gave Arkansas 290 on the ground, over 7 yards per carry. FAU gave up 224 to FIU, Kejon Owens ran wild. Defensively for Memphis, this has a letdown written all over it in the first half at least. FAU got to reset after a rocky start to the Coach Kittley Era. The bye week was just what the doctor ordered. They’ve moved the football this year, 28th in total offense. But they’ve turned it over a ton, 9 turnovers in three games. The most on a per game basis in the FBS. 130th in Red Zone scoring, just six TDs in 11 trips. This is the buy low spot on this offense. I think they get into the 20s. And if that’s the case, Memphis will do their part and threaten 40. I’ll call it 41-27 Memphis.
