I don’t consider Carson Palmquist a good pitcher, but I’ll take a shot at u3.5 earned runs against a struggling Nationals offense. Washington is averaging just 4.15 runs per game this season and against LHP they rank among the bottom third of the league in team wRC+, team wOBA and HRs. Palmquist has an ugly 7.77 ERA but a 5.77 xERA, so it’s possible we see him with some positive regression soon. He’s struggling with walks (12% BB%) and home runs (2.05 HR/9) but the Nationals rank 27th in walk rate and 19th in team ISO so I’m hoping some of those issues get ironed out against the Nats. I have him projected closer to 3 earned runs over 5 innings.
