Tyler Shough under 22.5 rush yds (-115 at MGM) I'm showing way under this as this line is severely inflated from a 55 yard performance against Tampa Bay who allows a top-two QB adjusted scramble rate in the NFL. Shough goes from that to a bottom four matchup for scrambles, with the Panthers allowing both the fourth lowest raw QB scramble rate and the fourth lowest QB-adjusted scramble rate. A lot of that stems from the Panthers lack of pressure (31st in PrROE) and their high use of Cover 3 (2nd most), which keeps an extra man in the box in zone coverage facing the QB. When QBs do scramble against Carolina, it comes with the fourth-lowest yards per carry in the league. I'm projecting Shough for 18 with a median closer to 14.5 so there's value at every book out there.

Stop me if you've heard this before, but this is another game I make close to a coin flip. The Panthers are better as underdogs than favorites, and this is a bad matchup with the Saints run defense, especially with Tyler Shough playing surprisingly well. Shough has had good chemistry with TE Juwan Johnson, and tight ends have ravaged Carolina all season. The Panthers rank dead last by DVOA against tight ends and bottom five against middle passes, and they've allowed the sixth most yards to TEs. Johnson's snaps are down of late with Taysom Hill back in the lineup but his stats haven't dropped at all. He's catching almost 80% of his looks, getting a better, more catchable ball from Shough, and averaging 4.4 catches for 49 yards with his rookie QB. Bet Juwan Johnson to go over 37.5 receiving yards (bet365), a line he's hit four games in a row, and let's play a little escalator. Johnson has at least five catches in over half his games (7 of 13), including twice with Shough, so play 5+ receptions at +165 (bet365). He caught four balls for 92 yards against Carolina a month ago and has two other games at 70+ yards, and the Panthers have allowed that number four times this season, so sprinkle 70+ yards at +500 (bet365) too.
