Last season, Godwin stayed under this line in 10/16 games with Brady. But notably, the Bucs were an extremely pass heavy offense last season (68% was the highest in the league). This season profiles to be more balanced (51% in week 1, in what was a close game throughout). I do expect similar splits in this game. Similar to Brady, Baker is a check down maestro - only 10 of his 34 pass attempts traveled 10+ air yards (only 3 of those targets to Godwin). Godwin profiles once’s again as the short yardage receiver with Mike Evans running the deeper routes. Evans, Kieft and Thompkins were targeted on Mayfield’s 7 furthest throws. Godwin does have some YAC ability, but at 4.8 YAC on throws between 10-20 air yards last season, I just don’t see much upside for him in this one. Mayfield has been outside the top 30 in completion % on intermediate throws since 2021.
